Max's 1st trip to the dentist

We took Max to the dentist yesterday for the first time so i wanted to post some pictures. We will not focus on his report, because it was was not the best and we are looking into a second opinion, but instead I will talk about what a fantastic job Max did. I could not believe it. He loved the waiting room full of games and movies. Mike came to help out, and I am so thankful he did that. Max sat on Mike's lap to get his x rays done and did perfect, he listened so well. Than we took him to get his teeth cleaned. He got to lay down with sunglasses and headphones and watch the Lion King. Who wouldnt love that? He open his mouth, and just did everything the hygenist said. We were beyond proud of our little guy. We love our little guy so much and Are going to do the best we can with his teeth from here on out. He has a procedure in March to correct some things in his mouth, and we also will be brushing his teeth 2-3 times a day, flossing 1-2 times a day, watching his sugar intake, and making sure he has only water after his teeth are brushed at night. We want to do everything we can to give Max a pretty smile with healthy teeth, eventhough his genetics are against him. So wish us luck on our new intensive mouth care daily routine. It will be a change but a change for the best. We are so thankful for taking Max yesterday and for everything we learned. It was all a little overwhelming, but I know we can do this together as a family.

Who says you cant play dress up with boys?!

Watched the boys the other night while Mike went to the Hog game. We decided to play dress up and had a lot of fun. Sure, it wasnt princess dresses and crowns, but we found all sorts of fun dress up stuff in Max's room for boys.we laughed at lot at our silly costumes.

Big Brother Little Brother

Ok, I admit it. I love dressing the boys in cordinating outfits, even if it's just with color, but even better, big brother little brother shirts. I dont know why i love doing it so much. Probably because it reminds me that now i have 2 precious little boys to dress, and not just one. Well that, and they just look so dang cute in matching outfits! Max loves it to. Today I asked him what his shirt said, he said "Big Max", close enough ; ) P.S. taking a picture of these two at their age, with their personalities, with both of them behaving at the same time is a task

The Lamb infirmary

Last Thursday Max came home from school with a fever and runny nose with a cough. Saturday night, Alex started a bad runny nose, middle of the night, a fever. Sunday, Mike, you guessed it, similar symptoms. Monday, mike took off work sick for the first time in over a year, and I was home with 3 sick boys running on absolutely zero sleep. Monday afternoon Alex started to get an extremely runny nose, a bad cough/wheezy breath, wouldnt nurse, and refrused his binky because he couldnt breath, therefore only napped when he passed out because of exhaustion. After we survived the longest night ever known as last Monday, i called our doctor at 7:45am on Tuesday, so they could call me back at 8, and made an appointment for 9:10. My mom drove in to help with the troops. The doctor said what i thought, he was concerned about Alex's current condition. What surprsied me though is that we werent sent home with antibiotics like i had assumed. Instead we were sent home with a list full of to do's and a treatment to help his lungs ( humidifier, nasal spray, aspirator, etc etc) and a little mask. The doctor said the nasal spray he prescribed would help open his sinuses up and the breathing treatments would help with Alex's lungs and help him get the amount of air he needs. So, every 4 hours i have to make the little guy breath 2 puffs about 12 breaths out of the below

I hope Alex feels better soon. I hate to see the little guy so uncomfortable. Plus mommy needs some sleep! So thankful i decided to take him in.

Brotherly Love

I am so thankful for the opportunity to raise not one but two little boys. Alex is only 4 months old and i can already see their brotherly bond starting to form. They are so lucky to be able to grow up and have each other there to play with, talk to, watch movies together, sleep together, and just go through life together a few years apart. There were times after I gave birth to Max and experienced the newborn months that I wondered if i would able be able to do that again. Well the answer was yes! God blessed us with our little Alex and now our family feels more complete than when it was just us 3. I cant wait to be home this next year and watch how Max and Alex play together more and interact more together. Yes, they are and will be a handful, and at times I wonder if there is a sane mother of 2 boys out there.......but I wouldnt have it any other way. Whenever i see them happy together, i try to take a quick picture. Below are some recent ones.

Fever

Poor Max ran almost 102 fever yesterday afternoon and night. He woke us up at 4:35am with fever again. We have been giving him Tylonal to keep it down. This afternoon he's finally starting to look a little better. I dint know what it was but it seems to be gone now..... Since he woke up around 8 he's been back to his old awnry self!

Mike's parent's land

Mike's parents bought some land in NWA!!! We are so excited about this. They closed around Christmas time, so on New Year's Eve Day, we went to go visit the land. They bought about 40 acres near West Fork. The land is just goergous, we had so much fun walking through it and showing the boys. It will be neat to see what all they do with the land. We took lots of pictures, can't wait until the next time we get to visit it. Mike's parents are coming up on the 23rd of January to look at the land, plan sewer, water, etc.

Christmas afternoon in Russellville

We decided since the whole Van Es Clan 48 and one on the way was meeting up in Russellville on Christmas Day ( except - Bryan and Katie and their kids, Todd and Jennie and their kids, Kelley and Gran ( Gran's never been to Russellville) and Drew and Natalie.....we thought it would be a great Christmas to go down and visit with everyone. We road with my parents. Christmas was a little different this year, my grandma was in the hospital. So, we headed straight to the hospital to visit with her. About a week before Christmas my grandma tripped on a clothing rack at her church, and fell. The fall we thought at first, only hurt her knee. The doctor told her she needed surgery. Well - the surgery was scheduled for that Thursday ( I believe) before Christmas. Well - while on the table when they were checking out the surgery on her knee they heard a pop/crack. Upon further inspection, they realized she had broken her femer!!! That meant more surgery and an extremely lot longer recovery time. We visited her on Christmas the same day she was moved from Hospital to hospital rehabilitation. She did physical therapy about 4 times a day for a while, and finally got out on the day before the Cotton Bowl. She is now at home - Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers - but of course still has a lot of recovery to do. ...... But to continue....after the hospital visit we went to my uncle Wen and Aunt Katy's to celebrate Christmas. It was fun getting to see all of the extended family. Presents, food, fellowship, games, and of course, cards. Fun had by all! After Wen and Katy's we headed to the Humphry's to visit. It was great getting to see Chanda and Clay who I do not get to see that often. Of course Alex had to nurse, than had a complete blow out.....but we still got some visiting in and than headed up the mountain back home. I took a few pictures at Wen and Katy's...

Waking up on Christmas morning

We were so excited about celebrating this year with the boys. It was Alex's first Christmas, and Max's 3rd. We knew this would be a fun year with Max because he's just at that fun age. Notice below, Santa brought Max a kitchen. Not pictured is Santa working very hard for hours and hours putting the kitchen together. Santa and Mrs. Clause had a lot of fun Christmas eve visiting our house....many memories made and a night they will always remember. We actually woke Max up on Christmas morning by getting him out of bed and putting him in our bed. We talked to both of the boys about Christmas - turned on the video camera - and let the boys go in the living room to see what Santa brought them. I always want to be that parent that tapes Christmas mornings, so we can always look back on such great memories with our kids. You can see in some of the pictures Max was speechless, just that look of surprise - he couldn't believe all of his presents. We had so much fun going through all of them with him. Santa brought Alex some fun stuff too - Alex got a horsey jumper and a cars rocker - and some rice cereal....What every 4 month old wants :) Enjoy the pictures of Christmas morning at The Lamb house. One of the best and most blessed Christmases we have ever celebrated. Me and Mike just look at our kids and are reminded of how lucky we are that God has blessed us with Max and Alex. I am so thankful we were given the opportunity to become parents. It has blessed and added to our lives more than we could have ever dreamed of.

Christmas Eve in Sonora

We had a very Merry Christmas in Sonora this year. I went out to my parents house in Sonora that Friday before Christmas. My mom was there, and my dad and sister had the day off too. We spent the day getting ready for Christmas....baking, cleaning, wrapping. That afternoon Mike came over and we got ready to go on a date night! We went out to eat with 14 other friends at Wasabi in Fayetteville to Celebrate Christmas and had so much fun. When we got back to Sonora to spend the night, the girls were there too, so we had a big sleepover on Christmas Eve Eve. On Christmas Eve we all woke up early like it was Christmas day and had a big breakfast. Todd and Jennie, and Kelley and Gran came out to Sonora too. We opened presents, ate Christmas lunch, took family pictures and went to church. It was a fun Christmas Eve as always in Sonora. Some big gifts I remember.....We surprised Todd and Jennie with a new ottoman for their new house, I surprised mom with some Vera Bradley. Aunt Phyllis surprised Mike with a new double deer stand. Jennie made Alex some bing bags with his name on it. Alex got some cute clothes, some wooden shoes from Holland, a name block. Dad got mom a new comforter set. Aunt Phyllis got me some new China. Kelley got a sewing machine. Mary Frannie got some Barbies! Kelley made me a shower curtain. All sorts of neat thoughtful gifts. We had a very blessed Christmas this year in Sonora. We are so lucky to be able to spend a day together as a family. We look some pictures of the day....Enjoy!

Mike went with me today to Alex's 4 month check up. Alex did great - even better with his shots than his 2 month check up. He weighed 14 pounces 2.5 ounces and was 25 inches long. He is 25th percentile on weight and 50th percentile with his height. For a fun comparison I looked up his brother's stats. Max weighed 18 pounds 2 ounces and was 26.5 inches long at his 4 month appointment, both 95th percentile!! Now you don't have to wonder why I say I think Alex is so tiny all of the time.

We decided to do a surprise Christmas gift this year for MiMi and take updated pictures of all of us - Me, Mike, Max, Alex, Matt, and Bekah. Matt and Bekah came over, we took pictures in front of the tree, on the couch, than loaded up and headed to James at the Mill for a couple of "Non Christmas" looking pictures. The kids did great and had fun taking surprise pictures for MiMi. When we got home we fixed a big Christmas meal for all of us. It was a fun day, and I think MiMi was definately surprise. The pictures above are some of our best ones.

Sonic trips

We have so much fun on our family sonic trips these days. Here is one sonic trip on the way to Delight last weekend. I had to nurse Alex so I let Max amd Mike take care of the ordering. Max has sonic memorized. He either wants blue or red icecream. The blue icecream is vanilla with blue ocean water flavoring, and the red icecream is vanilla with strawberries. We were trying to explain to max that yes, he could have icecream, but that he had to eat Chicken too. So finally after we all figured out what we wanted, mike attempts to order. Max rolls down his window and starts yelling red icecream into the speaker. The lady is obviosly confused because A. Its a 2 year old ordering and B. Im pretty sure there is not red icecream on the menu. So we have Mike trying to continue to order and Max continuing to order his red icecream. Me and Alex found the situation quite humerous as we sat quietly in the backseat. Mike finally pulled through and got our order to the lady correctly. We let Max enjoy his meal in the front seat, including his "red" icecream! Another fun family sonic trip.....never a dull monent with an almost 3 year old!!!

Tracy made me a bag!

Tracy made me the cutest bag for Christmas. It will be the perfect overnight bag. I also think it will even be a good day trip bag, if i take the boys somewhere it will fit everything perfect. I know this took her a ton of time to make. It was made out of an old pair of pink pants! You can see the belt loops and pockets on the side. She even put zipper pull with 2 charms for me to put a picture of each boy on my bag. What a thoughtful and useful gift. Cant wait for the first time i get to use it!

Alex is a growing baby!!

Alex was 4 months old yesterday!!! (Doctors appointment next week after we return from Delight so stats coming soon) I think his head control and neck muscels are growing stronger everyday, so i wanted to post a picture of the little guy holding his head up. One thing i love about staying home with him is i get to see and capture little moments like this.....and i dont have to say "I cant believe he's already 4 months" i get to say "Our little guy is 4 months"..... You see, me staying home gives both me and Mike soooo much more time with him that i truely dont feel everything is going to fast. For the first time in a long time, i am enjoying every minute, of everyday, just watching my boys grow and our family make lasting memories i am forever grateful for. We are so blessed to have this opportunity.

2011 - The Year of Alex

Starting the year off with a picture of Max....calm...asleep...me and mike have quiet time - what a great start to 2011. Little did we know how our lives were about to be turned upside down, in the best way possibleLook how young Max looks!! This was the beginning of the terrible 2's. If there is a "beginning" to that.
End of January - we get some snow!!! I use the word some lightly.....This is me and Max excited about the snow. We even got out the sled - and funny mike got out the camera - little did we know the snow we had in store for us was yet to come!

JANUARY 26,2011 - VERY special day. This was the day we found out I was pregnant!!! This was the day we took the test - a Saturday morning. We couldn't believe it. Our year of plans we had just made over the New Year was suddenly taking a turn. We were going to have a family of 4 by Christmas.

February started with a BANG. 24 inches of snow in 24 hours. It was unbelievable. I will always remember this snow storm. It felt like a dream - like it could not be happening. I could not believe we got that much snow that quick!!!

We took advantage of the snow and 5 days later when the roads were still covered we sled out to my parents house in Sonora to go sledding! The most fun sledding I can ever remember. Unfornately I had to play it cool since I just found out I was pregnant I couldn't sled - but seeing the kids and the big kids have that much fun was just so funny to watch.

Mid February - Both Laney and Max turn 2!! They had a combo Birthday party at Chuckee Cheese. A little crazy, but a lot of fun.

Because of some different circumstances, Max did not get to attend Bekah's Birthday party - so we decided to through Bekah a little Lamb Birthday party. We took her to the promenade mall out to eat and to Chuckee Cheese, it was a lot of fun celebrating her 4th Birthday!!!
April - We find out we are having a BOY!!!!! Oh no - another Boy......all I could think of was a house full of boys - but now looking back - I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mid April - We decide to build Max a swingset with his tax money he earned us. It was a lot of work, but oh so worth it. Every kid needs a swingset in their backyard.

15 weeks....crib time

Well, the time has come. A very hard time for a mother. The first night she has to put her little baby boy in his own crib, in his own room, far from her bed, farthest they've ever slept apart. Alex is 15 weeks old today, and tonight is his first crib night. Now will he sleep there 30 minutes? 2 hours? All night? I dont know, but i have made the first step by putting him down in his own crib. Max made the crib transition at 11 weeks since i had to go back to work. With me not working with Alex i knew i had to just bite my teeth and do it, or i knee i would never do it and his 1st birthday we would look up and he would still be in our room.
I know its the best thing for him. He's been waking up a lot at night lately, and i am praying this helps. I think he wakes up a lot when he sleeps next to ne because
A. He can smell me and knows nurse whenever he wants
B. me and him are so tired laying down to nurse that i think he falls asleep before he gets full. Him having to cry for a minute before i get to him and me walking in there and feeding him in the glider hopefully keeps everyone a little more awake and he can nurse better and sleep longer til his next feeding. Thats my theory anyways

Well here's a picture... Now i need to go check on the little gut.... I wonder if i will ever convince myself he is ok so i cant get sone sleep too!!

For those of ypu that dont know, Rhea Lana's is a consignment sale That comes to NWA 4 times a year. I always always fine good buys. Here is Alex's baby gap bunting outfit. $58 in stores, it was $12 at Rhea Lana's and i got it for $6 at te half price sale. It looked like mint never been worn condition. I love it!!! Alex will stay warm and cute this winter!!

I was excited to get Alex's stocking monogrammed last week and finally get to hang it up. Who would thought 3 years ago when we bought Max's stocking and threw an extra one in the cart just in case.....that we would be needing it for our 2011 Christmas. We are so blessed to have a happy family of 4 this holiday season.

Big Change in the Lamb house!

As many of you know we were blessed with a healthy baby boy on Saturday September 3rd. Little did we know or anticipate the life change he would have on our little Lamb Family of 3, now 4. The last 8 weeks I have been on Maternity leave taking care of Max and Alex. The first 6 weeks was spent recovering from the c section, getting used to having a newborn around again, getting my blood levels back to normal, and helping Max transition into the role of big brother. The last few weeks have been so great. I feel like everything is finally starting to fall into place, and just in time for my favorite part of the year - my Birthday, Thanksgiving, my mom's birthday, and Christmas!! During my leave, my mom has helped tremendously. It's fun to have her here to visit and be with the boys. I'm slowly getting into more of a routine. I have had so much fun spending to much time with the boys.

About a week or so ago me and Mike took a trip to Russellville and Delight to introduce everyone to Alex. While we were in the car so much we started talking about me returning to work. The more we talked, the more it made since that maybe I shouldn't return to work. What?!! I know...at first I didn't think we would financially be able to do it. The more we talked about it, the more real it seemed. After all... cutting a household income in half isn't the easiest adjustment to make. We talked about it more, thought long and hard about it, talked it over with our parents, made a planned budget that we think we can stick to, and made the decision.

As of Monday afternoon 11-6-11, I am a stay at home mom. I gave my notice to work, and everything is now official. I can't believe I'm actually going to get to stay home with my boys everyday and watch them grow. I'll also be able to help with household chores, etc and help make Mike's life better too.

There are so many reasons why staying home with Max and Alex is going to improve our quality of Family life, but the main one is being with my boys. I always had a hard time leaving Max for 50 hours a week, but I knew my mom enjoyed being with him and that made me feel better. I never thought I would ever just be a stay at home mom, but once I had Alex in my arms and Max by my side, I found it even harder leaving not one, but 2 at home. With Alex being our last child, I want to be home with him to watch all of his 1st's, and be there to rock him to sleep every afternoon, and nurse him, and just be with my little guy. After all, the first year is so fun but can go by so fast....and this will help that. This is only temporary, with me starting to look for something part time maybe next year, and full time again when the boys get a little older int eh next year or two. I know I will never look back and regret this decision to stay with my children while they are young. I am so excited to be given this opportunity.

So that's the big announcement! Wish us luck in this big life change for the Lamb house!!!

Trip to Russellville

What a fun trip to Russellville last week. For the first time since I was young - that I can remember...we stayed 2 nights in Russellville. That never happens, so I was excited to get to spend extra time with everyone especially my Grandma. This was also our first trip bringing Alex down to meet everyone. We told Max we were going to decorate a pumpkin for outside....we took our eyes off of him for a second, we turn back around and this is what we find. He took Oreos from the kitchen and was "icing" the pumpkin. He's so cute, we quickly explained to him what we meant. Another fun annual pumpkin carving night with Max!

The doctor gave me clearance to start working out!! I am so excited although I'm not completely sure how I'm going to get started or what I'm going to do, but I'm excited to start back up. I decide to take a before picture so I can go back and compare later.

In college i gained about 20 pounds...the mac and cheese, fried chicken, pizza, candy bars for meals, etc. i guess wasnt the best choice, but at the time it did the trick. I worked hard to lose the weight before my wedding, which was 1 year after college graduation, but than 11 months later had a blood clot in my leg. With my blood clot I couldn't even walk let alone work out, so that combined with sympathy food from everyone I put back on the weight. Just when I recover and start up the routine again, I get pregnant with max. With max I gained 37 pounds-wow, not bad I guess but still a shock to the system. After max I tried to work it off and lost 39 pounds, but it seemed like everyone would say after a baby, your body just isnt the same. I couldn't really diet because I was nursing and needed the extra calories. I just couldn't get back to where I wanted to be. 11 days before max's first birthday in february 2009, when I was suppose to stop nursing and finally get back on track with my weight, I found I had blood clots in my lungs, 2 pulmonary embolisms. This was tough. Tough mentally and tough physically. It took me a long time to recover from these and get my health back, but of course the blood clots came with some extra pounds too. Because of all of the changes and the roll the clots ha on my outlook on life, I than decide I need a new job, months after my blood clots I blink my eyes and than find myself sitting at a new desk with new coworkers in a whole new world. Needless to say my priorities were now on my new job and my family at home. Finally, summer 2010 I start to concentrate on my weight and begin working out again and eating right. This time me an mike worked on it together. We start to see progress, and encouraged each other, made it through Thanksgiving, and than suddenly I begin to struggle. I was exhausted when I got home from work and didn't have the energy to work out and than at dinner I didn't feel full after the smaller portions. I started to get frustrated. Than one day after a few weeks of this, a lightbulb went of in my head. I was pregnant again!! Oh my...here comes Alex! So than I was pregnant with Alex from December 2010 to September 3rd and gained 40 pounds.Since I had to have a c section an I had some trouble with my blood regulating, I just now got approved to begin working out again. Of course I am nursing again, but I am still excited and plan on getting back into the workout routine and eating healthy. It will not be easy because with nursing I find myself hungry ALL of the time! But I know I can do it, even If I just start atleast walking and jogging again. So....since my blood clot in July 2005 I have struggled but as of of November 2011 I am ready to go! My goal is to lose 69 pounds. Currently I have lost 28 pounds from nursing so now I have 41 pounds to go.... 16 more pound til my pre-Alex weight, than another 25 to get back to my goal weight. I'm not putting a time on it because with two kids and the winter coming and my birthday thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner, the odds are against me, but here I go!!! I find myself motivated this time since I'm on Coumadin so shouldn't be getting a clot ever again and I don't plan on getting pregnant again either! Wish me luck!!!

Pumpkin carving time!!!

Since we leave tonight and don't get back until Halloween, last night was pumpkin carving night! Me and mike took turns helping Max, Alex slept most of the time. Max even wanted to color a pumpkin do I gave him some markers and a tiny pumpkin. Notice in one picture he even made me put a candle in on top of his pumpkin since we didn't cut it, he wanted his lit too. All in all it was a great night, a fun family tradition of carving a pumpkin the week of Halloween. Next year should be a little more interesting with a 3 year old and a 1 year old!!!

Max did so good getting his flu shot. When the nurse poked him he looked at me and said, :I don't want that momma" The nurse laughed and said ok, no more. Since MAx did so good I took him to party city and let him pick out a surprise. We came home with a 79 cent sucker and a 50 cent pow pow.

Had another great trip to fall Rhea Lana's! I spent $40 at the full price sale - got some great things, went back and spent $47 at the half price sale!! I got so much cute things for Max, Alex, both toys and clothes. I am so thankful we have such a great event in NWA. Me and my mom have so much fun going fall and spring. It's like a HUGE garage sale. Who wouldn't love that?!

A to Z

My mom drove me, Kelley, and the boys to A to Z. We had so much fun getting out of town for the afternoon. The boys did great and slept most of the time. For those of you that don't know what A to Z is, it's a neat store in Rudy, Arkansas that sometimes has great sales. We go about once a year. It's a store that apparently buys overstock from other places so you never know what they are going to have. It's a in a big warehouse. We didn't find a lot, but found a couple of things. It was worth the trip to just get out of the house on Maternity leave! haha

Blue ice cream please

We somehow got Max addicted to "blue" icecream. It all started with goign to coldstone and letting him sample the blue icecream and than buying it for him. Me and Mike have out smarted him and now have a new form of blue icecream. The people at the Johnson Sonic look at us a little crazy, but we order the $1 vanilla icecream and have them put "the stuff that turns ocean water blue" on top of it....wahlah - blue icecream!

The chalk learning city!!

Me and the boys spent our afternoon in Sonora the other day, just for a little something different. While my mom watched Alex, me and Max got to play outside. when I was little me and my neighbor, Nathan used to make chalk cities, so I thought it'd be fun to make one for Max! There was all sorts of fun stuff. I made roads for max to drive through, with stop signs. We made a grocery store for him to buy food, made him his house to park and nap, a gas station (which he visits often). We even made a clothing store for him to practice colors, a count with me station, and an ABC station. It was a lot if fun, too bad the rain came so it is no longer there, but I see a lot of chalk cities in our future!

Mission: childproof garage

Ok, so I guess for the last two years Max hasn't been into much Because we are just now childproofing our garage. It is something we have been meaning to do for the last month or two. We put every dangerous chemical in the top shelf ( out of reach for now) and we've started organizing all of the tools on a pegboard up high. Hopefully we can finish up with this nice fall
Weather we have been having but we have a great start....with two growing boys there are a lot of safety changes we will need to make in the next year! You wouldn't believe what little boys can get into if they put their mind to it.

Lunch with grandpa

Since it was raining, and I desperately needed both myself and max out of the house, I packed up the boys and took them to the mcdonalds off Joyce blvd in Fayetteville. I will not blog about the car miscommunication between me and mike but instead skip to the lunch.....This Mcdonalds has a big indoor playground. I knew max would love it and enjoy running off some energy. My dad even met us there for lunch. It was fun to get out of the house....and Alex did perfect....I will keep this option in mind for future rainy day options for sure!

We finally made it to church! Alex is 5 weeks old meaning we hadn't been to church in a while. We tried last week but last Saturday Alex had a rough night sleeping wise which means we ALL had a rough sleeping night...smile... So, we didn't make it to our 8:30am service. This week we were determined! Last night we had a decent night but Alex just happened to wake up at 6:30 needing to nurse so we all stayed up and just got ready for church...we left the house on time and pulled into the church at 8:25 am, perfect! It was a great sermon and it felt great to get back to church and our normal routine. We were welcomed by so many people excited to meet Alex. Max did fantastic, went up front for children's church than also went to the nursery during the sermon and got a great report. Alex did good too, only cried about 3 times briefly. We are so thankful for all of the prayers we have received and all of the support from the church during the pregnancy, birth, and recovery. Me and Mike feel so blessed and are excited to now be a family of 4!

We let Mike go to the hog game, so this means I was in charge of the boys.... The first half mom and Phyllis came over, the second half, since I was by myself, I decided to move everyone to the bedroom. I got max in his pjs, got him milk and popcorn.....than I got Alex ready, nursed and happy and in the nap nanny...than I hopped up on the bed and we all watched the game in our pajamas. It was a lot of fun, Max even passed out on the bed before Mike got home. I had a lot of fun getting some quality time with the boys.

Max brought this to me the other day while I was nursing Alex. I knew this couldn't be good. It looked important, and it looked like daddy's!! I tried my best to get out of Max what happened, but I think he could tell by my voice it was not a good thing, so he creatively kept changing the subject. I sent this picture to Mike at work, apologizing in advance and to give him a heads up. I'm not quite sure we've figured it out yet....but i a pretty sure something In this house isn't getting good reception

Meet Zippy

Meet Zippy. I found zippy when Max was about 18 months? at a Rhea Lana's sale! My mom was with me. I didn't think at the time it was the "best toy ever" but apparently when I found Zippy, I hit the jackpot. It was about $8, and the best $8 I've spent in a while. Max LOVES Zippy. In the house, outside, through the yard, on the driveway....he goes anywhere with Zippy. There are even times we have to transport him from our house to Grandma's house in the car because there is only 1 zippy.

I guess I'm glad I made that spontaneous purchase a few years ago.... Not sure when Max will outgrow it, but if it were up to him he might ride it forever!!

So a few months ago my sister has the idea of making dad a sign for his garden. When we started thinking about his birthday we all decided to actually get together and make him the sign. We weren't really sure of a plan at the beginging but it came together really well. Me and Mike went to Lowe's and bought the boards we needed. Kelley came over one Friday and helped - actually did - most of the artwork and painting. That night we got both Max and Alex's prints on the sign. Todd and Jennie and the girls came over on that Saturday and helped with the sign and put their prints on the sign. Below are some of the pictures of us working on the sign, giving the sign, and putting the sign in the ground. I think it turned out great and it was a very unique and thoughtful gift for the dad that doesn't need or want anything :)

So I had to post this picture of Alex's feet. They are so tiny!! These are Max's hand me down shoes - althought technically they were brand new with the tags on 2.5 years later.....because Max NEVER had feet this tiny. His feet came out a size 2 or 3 :) Me and Mike were talking how Max wore socks for the first 3 months of his life because no shoes ever fit, and than we finally remember when he was 4 months old buying him a size 4 pair of crocks while we were vacationing in Kansas City. that is one difference between him and his brother - Alex can fit in new born shoes!! So precious his little sneakers.

So I was cleaning the other day....and Max being the 2 year old that he is....went and got his own cleaning outfit and his vacuum and said he wanted to help me clean. I was laughing pretty hard - we had to take a picture. since it's his back end...I thought it'd be ok to post :)
