Max's Birthday at Chuckee Cheese!!

We wanted to do something special for Max's actual Birthday night especially since his MiMi and PawPaw were in town. We invited them, Matt and Bekah, Grandma and Grandpa and Todd and Jennie and the girls to Chuckee cheese. Everyone had so much fun playing the games and our favorite part was watching Max eat his cake!! What a great way to spend his first birthday night, it wasn't even crowded since it was a Tuesday...max was sure worn out though!

We found this toolbench over the summer and just knew Max would love it. We've been waiting ot give it to him for so long! He loves it...and is started to figure out the buttons....

Max's 1st Birthday Breakfast

Mike and I were so excited about Max's first Birthday. We got up early and had his toolbench ready to give to him and we made almond patties for the special occasion. Almond patties are a big Iowa family tradition. They are made at a bakery in Iowa and shipped here to Arkansas for special occasions and we definately thought this was one. We had breakfast with Max before Mike and I headed to work while Max spent the day with his MiMi and PawPaw. I only had to work until noon since I took a half day off and I got home just in time to put him down for his nap. What a great day.

PawPaw stayed on our recliner the night before Max's first Birthday. Max loved having his PawPaw over for a sleepover.

Laney's surgery

Laney had her surgery at Arkansas Childrens hospital on Wednesday February 17th to get her 1st of 2 coclear implants. For those of who don't know Laney is my niece who was born the Thursday before I went into labor with max on that Saturday so max and Laney ended up being only 4 days apart. Shortly after Laney's birth we discovered Laney was born with profound hearing loss in both ears. Thankfully Laney was excepted as a candidate for the implants. She has been doing good, I will add a picture of her implant soon. Todd and/or Jennie have been making weekly trips to adjust her hearing down to ACH. I think the date is by May when her implant will be turned all the way up. We are so excited for our Little Laney. We are just so thankful for this opportunity of being given the chance to hear. Laney is such a special little girl, I know she will touch a lot of people's lives as she grows older.

Max's 1st birthday lunch

My mom started a tradition with me that she always took me out for a birthday lunch so I thought would be fun to start with max. Here is a picture of me giving max a bite of his burger at Red Robin on his birthday lunch!!!

Playing with Max

Max is so fun to play with these days. This is a picture of me and max playing with his tool bench and daddy and max playing in the new ball pit. We love our playtime with our little max!! He is learning more and more everyday we love our time with him everynight and always look forward to our long weekends together!

Water for Hati

Today me and mike started our water for Hati day. One day a week we are going To drink nothing but water (eat too though) and than give the money we would have spent on sodas to hati... We are doing this through the season of lent and East Sunday we will make a donation to Hait. Sometimes we take for granted things like coffee in the mornings, tea for lunch, and caffine when we need it. Me and mike are looking forward to this experience with one another.
