Weekend getaways

Mike wanted to spend a weekend with his Grandpa in Delight.  Matt, his brother, wanted to join and he had Bekah, so Mike decided to take Max too and they would head down the 4 of them.  MiMi helped watch the kids so Mike and Matt could spend some quality time with their 95 year old Grandpa.  Me and Alex decided to stay up here and bond so we wouldn't get in the way - plus he's potty training so a 4.5 hour trip didn't sound like the best idea :)

The 3 Lamb cousins before they left

Alex did not want to get our of the car - he wanted to go!!!  He cried and cried when they pulled out of the driveway

but than he got happy again when he realized he got to stay and have fun with mommy

We went to Sams on a date night.  Who doesn't love a hotdog at Sams?

movie night in the movie room
On Saturday me and Alex went down to A to Z with Jennie and my mom - fun day trip and found some awesome buys!!!!

I love this Our Family book holder I found for $2
On Saturday night me and Alex headed out to my parents for a sleepover

alex spent a lot of time on his Grandpa's lap

I got several updates from the Delight trip.  The kids played with legos while they were down there.  Look at all of the legos!!

alex enjoyed some corn on the cobb at Grandma's

Mike and Matt enjoyed some supper with their Grandpa

Alex keeps in close proximity of Grandpa at all times

Max sent me this picture - so cool what he built

Sunday morning me and Alex head to church with my parents.  At 11am we got out of Sunday school, looked outside and this is what we saw!  It was snowing hard with blizzard like conditions

I called Mike immediately....Reports of accidents on I-540 were all over the news with pictures of cars off the roads. That's exactly where Matt and Mike were headed to get home!

After 6 hours - Matt and Mike call to let us know they made it up I-540 - finally - slow going of course - and my dad decided to drive me and Alex to meet them on I-540.  We left Mike's car in Sonora

Alex bundled up ready for a snowy drive

We met Mike at a gas station....me and Alex squishedi n the pilot - and we made it home

Home sweet snowy home

Matt and Bekah decided to stay the night to watch the superbowl

Alex didn't mind the extra company

The superbowl was an aweful game! but this sure made me laugh

here were our snow totals - according to the news - we got about 6 inches
What a weekend!

Alex's accident

Mike went out of town on the Van Es fishing trip
Alex was on Day 6 of potty training in underwear
I went to my mom's for the weekend (since my dad was at the fishing trip too) so she could help me keep my sanity :)
We took the boys out for a few errands on Saturday.
Carters (the kids clothing store) was to be our last errand.
The boys were a little rowdy, I could tell they were hungry/tired.
I asked them to sit at the table and play in the middle of Carters.  There were 5 kids at the table.  They kept taking turns running form the table and getting the toys from this rack that were for sale and not to play with.  I kept telling them to not touch those toys because they were for sale and not to play with, but it was 5 kids against me and I think they were having a hard time listening :)  About that time Alex gets up from the table and runs to the same rack again, slips on a stuffed animal and fall and hits his face on the rack.
Luckily mom had checked out and it was time to leave anyways, so I grabbed him and saw blood and rushed to the car since I didn't have anything to clean it up in the car.  About this time I realize the tooth is lose and has been pushed back.  I get him cleaned up and on the way home (he's still bawling)  I call the emergency dentist.  They decided since it wasn't about to fall out, that we were to just keep a close eye on it and for us to go get x rays on Monday.  I would say the hardest party of waiting until Monday was that we had to go soft foods only (no pretzels that he is addicted to) and no sippy cup, that was the tough one.

poor guys mouth

his mouth swelled so much he didn't even look like his normal self

2 days later the swelling started to go down

big boy drinking out of a straw not a sippy cup

Monday morning 7am we leave for the dentist for some x rays

both boys at the dentist
Well - the dentist said we would leave it in there which was a relief, we didn't want to pull it at such a young age.  She also said that the swelling should go down and help move the tooth go back into place, which about a week later, it did just that.  A few weeks later - we are now noticing the tooth starting to lose it's color.  I hope it doesn't do the same thing as Max's front tooth and die, get infected, and than us have to pull it - but atleast he will be older than now when that happens.  For now Alex still has all his teeth - so that is good news to us.

Frozen

We tried a few different times to go see the movie Frozen and it just never worked out.  One day last week mom was free and so were me and the boys so we decided to all go see Frozen. We went and saw the 1:30 movie at the Promenade.  Max did excellent of course, and Alex did good :)  not great, not bad, but good :)  I had to take him to the bathroom a few times and he changed laps a few times, but behaved excellent for being a two year old in a movie theater for 2 hours.  The best news was that I called the corporate office and found out Alex can eat their popcorn!  I was excited to hear they had dairy and egg free popcorn.  We got a large combo and ate every bite, I couldn't believe it.

I think Frozen was a great movie.  Good for both adults and kids.  I would recommend it for sure.

Below are some pictures from our adventure.

Thanks Grandma for a great afternoon!!!
