Bekah comes over to play

As many of you heard - we got a swing set in the end of April. We wanted Bekah to come over and see it and play with Max. One weekend Matt had Bekah and had a Saturday free so we thought it would be fun for them to come and play outside and we would cook dinner. The kids had fun just playing in the backyard and on the new swingset. Mike cooked a great dinner. Bekah even wanted to take a bath with Max before she headed home. It's always fun to see Max and Bekah spend time together.

Mother's Day pictures before lunch

I thought I would post some our "Mother's day portraits". Todd, Jennie, and my dad headed to Bryant for the weekend to work on their rent house. They got it all ready to sell with new paint, landscaping, etc - anyone know of anyone needing a great house in Benton?

Anyways - this is how my mom ended up with the 3 girls on Mother's day. We all met for church - my sister met us too. After church we ran by our house to take some quick pictures and change before heading to Marketplace to eat than the gentry drive thru zoo. Such a fun mother's day.

Laney and Max - turned 2 February, Mabry (just turned 4 Memorial Day weekend) and Mary Frannie - 6 - all cousins

May cookout with friends

We decided to have a cookout with our friends in May. It had been a while since we had a cookout with Winter, all of the snow, finding out we had a baby on the way etc. We thought Mother's day weekend would be appropriate since most of our friends have kids, that way everyone could just come over and hang out in the back yard, and it would give me and mike just the right amount of time to transform our backyard into something suitable. For some reason only a winter had past since we had been in our backyard but at first glance it looked like years. Me and Mike had a lot of work to do on the yard. We cleaned and redid all of our flower beds, planted a garden, put together swingset, painted our tables, and bought new chairs and a new umbrella. We also bought a ton of plants from lowes, some that will come back, some that will just look pretty this year. Everything turned out great for the cookout, and now we have our yard and deck looking great for all summer and fall long. We were thankful so many of our friends could make it. Mike of course put meat some meat on the smoker, and I took care of the sides. We spent a lot of time on the deck - boy was it hot! - and the kids loved the backyard. What a great way to spend Mother's day weekend!
Me and Miss Stephanie. Brian Davis ( mike's best friend) and his wife Lindsey had their 4th little one about 5 weeks before the cookout. We had met her before, but it was so great to see and hold her again. This will be me with little Alex this fall!

My mom gave me our Lambs bucket - I love it - great for entertaining.

Race for the Cure

April 30th - Me, Mike, and Max got up early on a Saturday morning to celebrate Race for the Cure. Race for the cure is something me and mike have done together (weather permitting) since we have been together, and we enjoy now getting to share this experience with Max. We all got up and put our matching shirts on, got the jogging stroller, camera, and water, and headed out the door. We headed up to Rogers to the Promenade and the parking wasn't that bad. We got in line for the family fun walk - Max did great waiting in line. We made lots of friends and met some survivors. This walk always reminds us of how important it is to stick together and support a cause that affects so many moms, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, and aunts. On April 30th we walked to support a good cause but we also walked to celebrate my aunt margie in her daily fight against breast cancer. We love you aunt Margie!

April trip to Delight

We got to make another trip down to Delight in April. We normally travel every year in April for Turkey season.
Mike's dad took us for a trip on the "bad boy" ( a souped up golf cart). All 5 of us fit on the bad boy and Max even got to drive for some of the way. He drove us all through the hunting lease. We stopped here "Uncle Barden's resting place" for a picture. This is a place where Mike's grandpa used to walk and rest, than walk back home.

Mike needed a nap
PawPaw also took us to a creek where Max got to throw some rocks. Max enjoyed getting to throw stuff without getting in trouble
PawPaw had to show Max how to properly skip a good rock

Isn't this photo precious?! It's Max sitting on top of his PawPaw's tractor. Max felt like a big boy on this.

Me and Max stayed in the barn while they tested out a gun - we peeked through the glass
I took this picture of an old truck Mike's dad has in front of and old tree.
Max plays with a turkey decoy
MAx and his MiMi
I took some pictures in the barn of some old newspaper clippings.
