Colorado Vacation - Day 9 - Friday

Friday!

T-REX Restaraunt, Outlet Malls, Check in, swim, and bed!

We didn't get to bed til late on Thursday, and by some miracle, we slept in til 10am!  Everyone!  We got ready, got the car packed, checked out of the hotel and headed straight to the outlet malls just across the street and decided to eat a brunch.  We chose the TRex restaurant, one of the coolest kids restaurants I have ever been.  Huge dinosours, aquariums, lots of different stuff to keep the kids entertained.

Alex touched the TRex at the front of the restaurant, Max...not so much - he was a little scared at first but than thought everything was so cool.

We got to sit next to the aquarium.  Alex and Max just watched the fish swim and pointed out their favorites

Max FINALLY decides to touch a dinosour.  Look at how careful he is being with his one little finger

the food was delicous

We checked into the Great Wolf Lodge!!!  WE were beyond excited. Here are our bracelets that we wore during the stay, and below is Mike attempting to be the Dad of the year and check us in.  Just so you know - I'm not just taking pictures - I'm opening the door with the key - well and laughing.

The boys loved our private balcony.  It was hard to keep them off of it

  I loaded up the refrigerator!
 snack time than nap time!

 Dinner poolside

Alex at the waterpark - enjoying the splash area (we obvisously didn't get a ton of pictures because we had 2 little kids in a waterpark where our cameras couldn't get wet - and we had our hands a little full to say the least
Bedtime once again - popcorn and a movie.  Can you tell that's a family favorite of The Lambs?

Colorado Vacation - Day 8 - Thursday

Traveling Day!!

Since we had had a prety full week of events in Colorado Springs we decided to hop in the car around noon and head to Kansas City, KS.  We were so thankful Phyllis let us stay for so long and was such a great hostess.  She helped us pack and get the boys ready and off we went!  If I remember right, it was about an 8 or 9 hour drive, and it went pretty smoothly.  We missed Phyllis the second we pulled out of the driveway. I was a little sad, but told Mike atleast we weren't heading home, we were headed to a little family vacation at The Great Wolf Lodge!! and there was lots of fun to come.

Thank you Aunt Phyllis for the travel M & M's.  They were delicious

We finally made it!  Here is us passing by the Great Wolf Lodge!  Our reservations weren't until the next day so we decided to check in at a hotel down the road - Candlewood Suites - and stay and hit the outlet Malls in the morning.  It took forever for the kids to settle down, but we had fun.  They had just been in their car seats for so long and than arriving finally at a new hotel - they were just way too excited.

We ended the night with popcorn and a movie.  Mike was so sweet and bought this for us that morning at Walmart as a surprise.  What a great travel day it was.

Colorado Vacation Day 7 - Wednesday

4th of July

Garden of the Gods, Whole Foods, and Light show!

Every morning Phyllis had a delicious breakfast in her dining room for us.  I loved getting to eat together in the dining room every morning as a family.  Here is a picture of Alex at breakfast on his first 4th of July!

The kids in their 4th of July outfits

The beautiful view.  We actually pulled over on teh side of the road for this picture, and I'm so glad we did.  Why?  Because the first time we pulled over we realized we didn't have a camera! haha  We had to turn around and get it.  If we wouldn't have pulled over, we never would have realized that we forgot the camera at home and would have made it all the way to The Garden of the Gods and had to turn around, that would have been so sad!

We made it!  Garden of the Gods entrance photo op.

Isn't this a neat picture?

The balancing rock.  I have been to this rock several times.  It's neat every time to go back.  This was of course my first time to take my kids.  We loved coming and letting the kids climb all over the rocks.  They had a lot of fun.

The TIRED and HOT crew after our hike.  This story is better in person, but imagine a few wrong turns, a double stroller, 2 small kids, a double stroller, and 100 plus heat - and there's your story.  Mike was laughing at us and had to take a picture.

Me and my aunt Phyllis

Whole Foods!

A trip to Aunt Phyllis's house is not complete without a trip to whole foods. We have a lot of fun in this store and always find so much we like.  Here is Mike and Max at the Olive bar - talked about much this trip.  We had fun sampling the foods and even grabbed lunch there - since our Chipolte was taking a 4th of July vacation.

Well obviously with the huge wildfire in Colorado - fireworks were a no go - not just a burn ban - but absolutely no fireworks anywhere close aloud....so we decided to put on a
'light show"  I had some extra glow necklaces and glow balls and we made a night out of it.  It was fun, and gave us something to joke about all night -and the boys loved it.

Hope everyone has as Happy of a 4th of July as we did!!!
