Goes by Alex, Little Al, or Little toot
I can't believe your two! You have blessed our lives more than we could have ever imagined. Before you came along we were just a little family of 3. To our surprise, we were a family of 4 before we knew it. You are the best surprise I have ever gotten. You make us smile every day. Your best friend is your Bubba. You miss Max when he goes to school every Tuesday and Thursday. Your other best friends are your cousins. When you here us talk about "the girls" you get so excited. You are so social. You are rarely shy. You are full of energy. You climb on everything. You love water. You are not afraid. Even before you were two you will jump off the side of a pool (wearing a life jacket of course). You don't even have to be jumping to someone. Yes, we have to keep a close eye on you.
You are little!! You are a tiny little thing. You just reached 25 pounds. You are starting to gain weight now that we know you have food allergies and can give you food that doesn't make your tummy hurt. You can wear 6 month shorts, but mostly 12-18 months. We are waiting patiently for you to be able to wear all you 18-24 month cute shorts we have waiting for you. Your brother was that size at half your age.
You now love to eat. You ask for snacks all of the time. You stand at the pantry door and say open or you sit in front of the refrigerator. You love pretzels and hummus dip. It has replaced your cheese dip addiction. You love pizza. You had your first dairy free pizza last night. You love grapes, but you throw them too. You LOVE puff corn. We let you eat way too much. You love fruit snacks, they keep you in the cart at Walmart. You love bananas, but you also love to open them on your own which turns into a mess.
You love Bath time. You beg for a bath every night. You fight your brother to sit at the front. You love your gummy every night (vitamin), and would do almost anything for it. You give your allergy medicine to yourself every night, you are a big boy, but are not fond of brushing your teeth. You normally have mommy lay next to you in your bed at night to go to sleep, I don't mind. Every now and than you are persistant to have daddy there instead. You use a sippy cup of water to help you get to sleep every night. That will have to stop when you start potty training! You are on average a great sleeper, thank you for that.
You are starting to potty train yourself. This is a good thing because it seems so much easier that when we potty trained your brother. You poop in the potty - thank you! now we just have to work on keeping your diaper dry too. There are negetives to this believe it or not. You want to go potty all of the time. One time like 8 times in a row. I finally just let you sit on the potty whenever and however long you want. I have to keep an eye on your though or you will use way too much toilet paper. Another negative. Today you brought me your diaper and you were naked. This is starting to happen more often. We'll get it though, you'll be potty trained in no time.
Ok I could write forever about you, but I have to go clean the house so need to wrap this up! Thank you for everything Alex. Because of you, I have become a better mom. Because of you Max has a best friend that will always be there for him. Because of you I have gotten to reprioritize my life. I am a stay at home mom. I am getting to stay at home and be a part of you and Max's life. You have made me a happier person who looks at the bigger picture, but can see the tiny details. You are going to grow up and do great things, but for now please stay tiny and continue to give me kisses and hugs and let me rock you to sleep, because I know that will not last forever.
Happy 2nd Birthday Alex!!!
Love mommy
