Cousin time

I love when the girls get to come over and visit and play.  A few weeks ago they came over on a Wednesday night so Todd and Jennie could have a date night. We ran out to get Max's halloween costume.  We met mom at Lowe's where we were both getting some mum's and flowers.  I headed home, started dinner and waited for the girls.  We had a great night.

Max chose to get a transformer costume at Walmart

He put it on almost immediately and didn't take it off til bedtime.  He probably would have slept in it

Chicken, green beans, and corn on the cobb for dinner!

Fresh lemonade for the kids

getting a quick nap in before company

Helping Mary Frannie with her Student Council poster

Max, still in his transformer costume, playing cards wtih Mabes.

I gave Mary Frannie the idea to add glitter to her poster, so we took it outside

Mike working hard on the turkey for Branson vacation

It appears Max determined to wear his transformer costume all night, had an influence on the rest of the cousins. Everyone joined in the fun and dressed up as something they wanted to that they found int he toy room.  Mary Frannie didn't make the pictures because she was finishing up her poster, but you'll see she later joined in the dress up fun.

Always love when the girls can come over and spend some time with us.  It's not always easy having the 5 of them, but for the most part things run smoothly, and it's all worth it to see how much fun they have.

Little Stinker

Can you guess by the title who this post is about?

That's right, Alex aka our little stinker

He is a hoot these days!  You never know what he is going to do, where he is going to be, what he is going to get into, what he is going to ask for, or how he is going to react when he can or cant have it.  Below are just a few examples of Alex over the last few days.  If you ever watch him, never take your eye off this kid.  To be safe, even take him to the bathroom with you, haha

playing with Max's gun

spilling anything he attempts to eat out of bowl

begging me for syrup

rarely wants clothes on, but watch out, the diaper comes off soon after

balances fall house decor actions on his head

The many faces of Alex.  He talks so much so loud in the car it is impossible to have a cell phone conversation with this little toot in the car

He attempts to dress himself.  This shirt is actually on, upside down and inside out and he missed his arms.  He has his brother's shoes and on the wrong feet.  He got mad when I said he could not play outside like that.

likes to be near me at all times.  This is him eating in my lap.

hides food in shoes

climbs in window seals

hangs from couches

hangs from the treadmill

hangs from the barstool

and more hanging on the couch

This kid is a handful!  Was Max like this? I love him so much though.  He is at a very fun age. He keeps you on your toes.  He will make you smile everyday.  Sometimes it is hard to keep a straight face when disciplining him.

Do you feel like you have read this blog in error?  That this isn't the Alex you know?  Feel like you need to experience Alex more and spend more time with him? Just give me a call and we'll set you up to babysit :)

Meet Mohog

Mohog is the name Max gave to his new pet turtle. Max, Alex, and MiMi found a turtle on Mimi's land and decided to bring it home for a pet.  Max was so cute, he looked at me so excited and said, I've never had a pet before momma!

Well we didn't want to be cruel so we let mohog "run" around in the backyard.  It was so cute how the kids wanted to give him water and grass for food. Our stories at bedtime that night were about mohog.

Once upon a time there was a turle named mohog. He wondered all through MiMi's land looking for a home.  One day two boys named Max and Alex found him and rescued him. They brought him home, took him on a walk, and introduced him to his new backyard with a swingset and trampoline.  Mohog had all the water he could drink and all the grass he could eat.  Mohog had happy dreams that night and lived happily ever after.

Well...the next morning it appears mohog wondered undered our fence into our neighbors.  We decided to go on a walk - we found another turtle aka mohog, and brought him back home.  We had a turtle again!  until a hour later when he escaped.  than 2 neighbors down delivered our turtle, we had a turtle again! until the next morning he was gone again.  I haven't checked lately but you get the picture.  Sometimes we have a pet turtle now, sometimes we don't, but the kids are young enough for it not to bother them either way that much.  They love to have a turtle in the backyard as a pet, but they understand that he likes adventure too.  I think they are fun and easy, so I'm all for it.  The next turtle we find we can bring home too, and call him Mohog too!

Happy 5th Birthday Raylee

We got to help Miss Raylee Wagner celebrate her 5th Birthday on Sunday.  We went to Fastlanes and bowled.  The boys had fun considering the were extremely tired. They didn't nap on Saturday, got to bed late, than had to be woken up to go to church Sunday morning - than the party was at noon right after church.  They were troopers.  They had fun.  My favorite part of the party was when we first arrived.  Raylee came running out to Max and said Hi Max!  Thank you so much for coming to my party.  I was really happy that she was that excited to see Max.  Birthday parties are always fun for this age group, for both the Birthday girl or boy and to be a guest.  Max and Alex both got to bowl, than they served sprtie, fruit punch, pizza and cake!  Her theme was Brave.  We headed out a little bit early so that the boys could take a much needed nap. So glad we got to come.  Thank you Raylee for inviting us to celebrate your big day! Below are some pictures of the party.  The bowling was glow in the dark.

Alex didn't make it home before passing out.  He fell asleep with his party favor ring pop in his hand.

Max on the way home, didn't take him long to fall asleep once we got home.
