Colorado Vacation - Day 6 - Tuesday

Tuesday - Mike and Ash Date Day, White Water Rafting, Royal Gorge, Boy's Chuckee Cheese Trip, and the Airplane Restaurant

I knew it wouldn't be easy leaving the boys, but since Mom and Dad were able to make the trip and Phyllis didn't mind helping out, we decided to leave the boys for a morning/afternoon trip to go White Water Rafting.  That opportunity doesn't just present itself to you everyday.  We got up early and were on the road by 6:45 am to make our 8:45 check in time for a 9:30 departure to the river.  We were so excited to go.  I had river rafted before - 3 times, but this was Mike's first white water adventure.  We let him sit in front on the raft.  It was fun to spend time alone just us doing something so different and so fun.  We had a blast.

Off we go!

We bought some fancy $5 shoes for the rafting trip

We were hesitant at first, but ended up buying these awesome professional pictures of us rafting.  I'm so glad we bought them so we can have pictures of this awesome memory.  We had so much fun.

Our trip to Royal Gorge

This wasn't exactly in the plan, but when we pulled out of our rafting place we noticed that the royal gorge was only a 1/4 mile away, so we couldn't pass it up.  I hadn't been to the gorge since I was 8 or 9 probably, and I wanted Mike to see it, so we went.  It was gorgeous...haha

We somehow convinced each other to ride the air trolley across the gorge.  It was a lot of fun!  Mike was so nervous I think his knees were knocking together, haha, but we made it.

I still can't believe we road a tram over the gorge!

Mike took awesome pictures with his camera - below are a few of my favorites

We HAD to take a picture by the Arkansas Flag.  You can't tell it in the picture but it was so windy, it was actually hard to catch the flag to take a picture! haha

The very scary bridge.  There are actually HOLES in it!

The scenic road Mike took us back on.  Yes it was beautiful, but oh my gosh, I could not believe we were driving on it.  Cliffs on both sides.  It was a little scary, and those types of things normally don't bother me.  Hopefully you can tell a little by the pictures how high up we are.

As you can see, the boys had it rough while we were on our date day.  They had a 3:2 adult kid ratio (that's what mom told me) so we thought they could handle them.

They took them to Chuckee cheese to play.  I can't decide who had more fun.  My Dad? or Max? or Alex?

The airplane Restaurant.

The airplane restaurant is the most impressive Restaurant I have ever been inside.  They litterally have an entire plane that you eat in.  The right wing is outside, you eat in the plane, and the left wing is inside the main part of the restaurant.  It was a lot of fun, and Max and Alex had a blast playing the actual cockpit of the plane. A BIG Thank you to Phyllis mom and dad who waited to eat inside the plane ( there wasn't a wait to eat in the Restuarant just the plane).  It was so worth it.

Alex turned 10 months old on the trip.  He celebrated with crackers,  cucumbers and tomatoes.
