Master Bath sink remodel

So as you know - our house is FOR SALE! Yes, it is still for sale :)

Me and Mike have been making small updates on the house lately.  We make updates that are cost efficient, will make the house sale better, pretty easy or atleast that we can do ourselves, and mostly - ones that we will enjoy too.

 

Below is our Master Bath sink remodel.  The sinks were just older and outdated so we wanted to update them.  Mike AND the boys worked on the sinks.  We did it in one night.  I helped clear out underneath the sinks and put everything back organized.  So it was a family effort.  Mike is getting so handy these days.  I am really impressed with everything he is doing, has done, or plans to do with the house.  Below are some sink remodel pictures - ignore the quality - I just snapped them with my iphone.

A visit from Laney

Jennie normally comes down this way for Therapy on Monday mornings with Laney so I told her if she wanted to drop Laney off for a visit last week, than I could watch the kids while she shopped some at Rhea Lana's.  My mom was able to meet her too.  I was glad everything worked out.  The boys had fun visiting with their cousin Laney.  I had them do a craft and spell things with glue and cherrios.  (Alex just ate the cheerios) .  We also went outside to play, and Grandpa met us here for lunch.  It was a fun morning with Laney.  Max LOVES when one of his cousins visits.

 

Here is Laney spelling her name with Cheerios.  She looked like she enjoyed the craft.  She was really good at it too.

Of course they had to ride in the Blue truck. 

 

Laney thought the Blue truck needed gas.  It was so cute - I just had to get a picture of it.

The kids were all over their Grandpa.  Here is  funny picture.  After Grandpa told them he had to head back to the office, Laney and Max each grabbed a leg and wouldn't let him go.  So sweet how much they love their Grandpa!

In October we made a trip down to see my cousin Drew get Married.

 

Here is a picture of Drew at my wedding 6 years ago - the 3rd one.  He was an usher at our wedding.

 

 

I was glad to be able to go to Drew's wedding and support him like he did me and mike a few years ago.  Since it was a family wedding we took the kids.  Here is a picture of all of us before the wedding.  Aren't the boys cute in their little suits?

 

 

A lot of the Van Es family were at the wedding.  We should have gotten a group picture!  Mike drove me, Todd and Jennie down.  My mom drove my dad and the 5 grandkids down.

 

Funny side story:  My dad loves showing up early places, and my mom always thinks we are going to be late.  They wanted to leave by 1 for a 5:30pm wedding that was barely 2.5 hours away.  But we also didn't want to be late and didn't really know where we were going so we agreed.  Both cars left the driveway by 1:15ish rushing down 540 :) We asked for a stop before the wedding to grab a snack and for everyone to use the bathroom (it was an outdoor wedding) and to get the kids dressed.  We stopped at a gas station 15 minutes outside the wedding.  We got there by 3:30!  We all got a kick out of this.  We stopped for a while and let everyone stretch their legs and pretty much took over the whole gas station with the 5 kids.  AFter a few family phone calls to prove to my parents the wedding started at 5:30 and not 5:00....we hopped in the car and headed to the wedding.  You will be glad to know we got there safely and on time. 

 

Below are some pictures of the Beautiful Wedding.  I was very impressed with everything.  So many personal touches and kid friendly. They had smores with a big bonfire, games, baggo, a chili bar, punch, a dance floor, glow sticks, a photobooth and more.  A neat idea they had is instead of a guest book they had a paragraph about them that you filled in the blanks.  I thought that was unique.

We danced a little at the wedding.  This is the cutest picture of Max dancing with Alex. If you can't tell Alex has the biggest smile on his face.

It was a fun wedding.  Best Wishes to my cousin Drew and Natalie!!! I hope they have many many years of Happiness together.

October Trip to Delight

We took our first fall Hunting trip to Delight in October.  We actually thought we were going down for youth hunt, and it turns out it was a special weekend that Mike could have hunted (with a gun not a bow, etc).  We mainly went down to visit and to cheer on Haleigh who is Max's 7 year old cousin that was going to hunt for the first time.  We had a fun weekend as always in Delight.  Haleigh shot her first deer!!!  We also went to an estate auction, listened to the Hog game on the radio, and carved pumpkins.  Eventhough we had to had to head back early to make it for our open house on Sunday, we were glad to we got to make the trip down.  The next trip down is next week on official open rifle deer hunting weekend.  Mike actually takes vacation days for that one and we'll be down for a while.  We always look forward to that weekend.

We stopped at McDonalds on the way down and got the boys something to eat.  The Happy Meals were neat this month and came in a bucket with stickers!

Max fell asleep like this!  His box of chicken next to his head.  Me and Mike got a good laugh out of this.  I took a picture, than of course put everything back in his bucket for when he woke up.

Alex enjoyed his brother taking a nap, we let him watch a baby can read movie, he loves those.

Max was still asleep at our first stop so we spoiled Alex a bit and let him stretch his legs and pretend to drive while me and Mike took turns going to the bathroom.

It was pretty foggy on the way down there with a little bit of traffic.  It added to our time a little bit, but luckily we made it there safe.

Bubba had gotten a bow an arrow before heading down to Delight.  Alex loved it. Here is Shannon letting Alex have a turn.  Max loved it too...in fact now Santa is bringing Max one for Christmas - only the elves are making Max's.  (Wish the elves goodluck)

Here we are at the Delight Estate auction.  This was the hit of the town on Saturday and we were right in the middle :) 

We left the kids mostly asleep at the House with Nathan.  We took Alex with us...and he ended up sleeping some in teh stroller at the auction.

We got some neat stuff from the auction.  It was actually only a few houses down from where Mike's parents live.  MIke got an old wooden radio/speaker cabinet  thing (that's the best I can explain it) for $2 he is excited about working on some day.  His mom also got a few things and so did Shannon!  HEre is Mike's mom coming home from the auction in her new chair.

Time to carve pumpkins!  I'm glad Shannon thought about this idea.  We carve pumpkins with Max and Alex every year - actually Me and MIke have also carved a pumpkin every year that we've known each other - so this year it was fun to carve one with everyone else around too.

Here is a picture of MiMi trying to convince Alex his pumpkin was not scary...this didn't work.  Alex was not fond of his pumpkin.

I took a picture of the radar....We went to bed before the heavy storms came through Delight.

We left early on Sunday morning.  The kids both traveled well and slept most of the time.  Probably worn out from the fun weekend.

Next trip to Delight a week from Friday!!! Hopefully lots of pictures of deer in the next Delight post to come!
