Happy Birthday MiMi

We ordered MiMi's (Mike's mom) birthday present 6 weeks in advance this year!  Unfortunately we moved during the week that it was suppose to arrive and it got lost.  finding it was a bit of a disaster.  The post office was not the best of help because I'm sure I was not their priority case that day.  Long story short - the present has been found - and now we actually have 2 (lol) that we get to give her this weekend when we visit woohoo!!!

So - since our present was not going to arrive in Delight for her Birthday we decided to make her a special card.  I took a few pictures even though it was a little bigger than this.  We each wrote her notes, I traced the boys hands, had the boys color her a page, attempted to write her a name poem, etc.  We had fun making the card and THAT got to her on time :) We also sent her a precious video the boys made her on her actual Birthday.  If you see i below I was able to upload it - if not its because it was giving me problems but I will continue to try.

Bunny Bags from MiMi

MiMi sent an Easter surprise for the boys!  The boys had fun getting a surprise in the mail and opening their presents.  Thank you MiMi

They were the cutest little bunny bags that she made with surprises in them.  Max called it his bunny bag. They use them now to put candy in and take places and they can eat out of their bunny bag.

Saturday morning Easter Egg Hunting at the church

Original plan was to go to the Centerton Egg Hunt on Saturday morning - but some rainy weather and us sleeping in changed our plans to going to our church's egg hunt.  It was fun and we had never been so we enjoyed going.  They started off by having everyone in the gym and they sang some songs.  I tried to get a video of Max.  He was sure into the song!  After that we had the egg hunts.  I went with Alex's age group so I just got pictures of him and Mike went with Max.  After the egg hunts they had a little portrait studio where they took pictures of the kids with a real bunny!  We were nervous at first - 2 young boys and an innocent little bunny but the boys actually did good.  Hopefully we get their pictures back tomorrow.  I can't wait to see how they turned out.

 

Here is Max's picture with the bunny.  Alex would NOT get close to the bunny and I'm not the type of mom to force a kid on the bunny if he is crying so no picture of Alex and the Easter bunny this year - maybe next year :)

MAx's school Easter Egg Hunt

Max's school had an Easter Egg hunt on the Friday before Easter. Alex got to go with us. They were running a little behind since everything got moved inside because of the rain so we played with the other kids.  Most of them are already in school that day - Max doesn't go on Fridays but they are nice enough to let Max attend just for the event on special days. We even got to have snack with the kids.  Alex loved all the attention and Max enjoyed playing with his buddies on a non school day.  It was a small egg hunt to all of us adults but to 3 and 4 year olds it was big - the got lots of candy - and had a blast.  I'm so thankful his school did something like this.  I love when I get to take Max to do fun things that he enjoys.

Brrrrrr Weekend in Branson

Our Spring break trip

We decided we all needed to get out of town after the move and everything that had happend.  Plus it was Spring break and everyone knows you go on a vacation on spring break.  Max was all pumped up about the trip.  He loves vacations and especially when we get to stay in a hotel.  The weather called for rain, wintery mix, snow, and cold weather - possibly - but we already had reservations everywhere and we all really wanted to go so we packed up Saturday morning and headed to Branson.

Silver Dollar City

So the plan was to go to Silver Dollar City.  We already have season passes so it's pretty much a free trip, sometimes you spend $10-15 on food or drink.  Well we read on weather.com that it is 36 degrees.  The local weather says 36 degrees.  Rides open at 35 degrees - sounds good to us!  yes it was cold but we figured we didn't have to stay long, it was what we had planned to do, the kids would have a blast anyways, and we could always go to inside shows - so we decided to go

Here is the Great shootout ride.  You have a gun and get to shoot targets while riding in a boat - pretty much every little boys dream ride.  The boys LOVE this ride.

It was a short trip.  Turns out Silver Dollar City only thought it was 34 so pretty much nothing was opened.  We were also inbtween seasons apparently so there wasn't a show in the big opera house OR the saloon show!  I was so sad.  They didn't even have the ball pit open because there was still snow there.  So....Silver Dollar City was not the best decision but we laughed most of the time and we sure made a funny memory and hey...it was free :)  The only time we tried to buy hot chocolate we couldn't even find any!

AFter SDC we went to the outlet malls.  Mike loves Banana Republic and mom and me got to shop a few stores too.  AFter that we went to the hotel to relax and just enjoy the place.  We had a 2 bedroom 2 bath huge apartment.  The boys loved running around and it felt good to just sit and watch some tv and take naps.

Later that night we had reservations for Dixie Stampede.  It was a lot of fun.  For those of you who haven't gone I would recommend it. Its a dinner show - so you watch a live show and they serve you dinner - a huge dinner - at the same time.  It is very entertaining, the kids did great.  They really did.  Max even did perfect I would say.  There were a few times Alex had to passed lap to lap but all in all we never had to leave with them and he never threw a fit so that was good with us. 

These are the professional photos they take.  It was like $30 but we paid it because it was so adorable and a good souvenir of the trip.

Cupid Shuffle

Mom got Alex this pig at the mall one day while they were shopping.  It plays the cupid shuffle.  We still are playing with it 2 months later. Here is a video of the boys dancing with the pig to the song Cupid Shuffle.

Alex's new dog

Alex loves dogs.  So when I found this dog I knew it was something I just had to get for Alex.  I actually got this for him for Valentine's Day. It barks, sits, begs, and than does a flip!  It made me laugh the first few times I saw it because the flip is so unexpected.  Alex loves it. The only thing is....when it is on it barks the entire time. Alex even thinks the bark is more of a song and dances or stomps his foot to the beat.  this was a cute video I got of him and the dog.

Alex is getting better at talking.  Even more so than this video (that is like a month old).

Is Daddy home yet??

Max loves his daddy so much.  Some days I will give Max a little notice of when his daddy is on his way home, like if Mike calls or texts, etc.  On those days Max normally goes to the window and literally looks outside for his daddy.  He was so excited on this day.
