Delight for the 4th - 1st stop on the trip

With my sister's wedding being in Hilton Head on Friday July 9th, we decided to leave on Friday July 2nd and make a week long vacation. First stop...Delight. We had to pack for 10 days. We would be gone Friday July 2nd through Sunday July 12th!! I think I packed all of max's clothes, a box of diapers and wipes and every sippy cup he had. I actually got an idea from a parenting magazine to pack by outfits in plastic bags. That actually worked pretty well. We had fun packing the rouge. We even bought a carrier for on top, and yes, it was definitely needed. We stayed at Mike's parent's house that Friday night and would spend Saturday all day in Delight but got to spend a lot of time at his Grandpa's House in Delight also. On Saturday we fit in all sorts of fun stuff. We went out to the creek with mike's family including his 93 year old Grandpa. This is a family tradition for the lambs. We ate lunch, and watermelon and played in the creek. One neat thing happened at the creek this year that was very touching. Mike's uncle Carvell's mom had just passed away I believe the day before and he was going through her jewelry. Carvell picked out some of his mom's jewelry to pass down to us girls at the creek. He gave me a beautiful black onyx necklace and a neat antique jewelry holder that I now keep on my nightstand by my bed. There is a picture of Laura Beth opening her necklace. It was very thoughtful of Carvel and it made for a great memory from the Creek. We also hung out at his grandpa's house and chatted and went to the park. That night Tracy cooked a delicious Southern meal ( as always) and we shot off a few fireworks for Max to watch. AFter that we went early to bed for it was early to rise the next morning....alarms set for 3:45am!!! Next stop....Savana, GA.
